No lights come on, the screen does not turn on, etc. If the USB-c is connected first and then I turn on the Z6, nothing happens with the camera. I have tried briefly with another Nikon DSLR, same result (and also detected in USB). In the Mac System Report it identifies the Z6 as being connected to USB. I have tried various settings (A, S, etc), switched between still and video. Results are same on Teams, Zoom, and CamLink - all they see is the reversed image of the Nikon logo from the Utility.

Is anyone currently using this with a Z6 and up to date Mac OS (meaning Big Sur 11.2.3). Today I went back to it and the Utility is running but the camera is not connecting. it would crash periodically, i think due to USB bandwidth going through a USB hub.

Many Nikon cameras work including the D850 and the Nikon Z system. To connect your camera you will need a USB-C to USB or similar cable (it depend on the camera ports you have). First, download the Nikon Web Utility here. Wouldn’t it be nice to use your 35mm F1.8 and really blur out that distracting background? Being able to use different lens and focal lengths is why I decided to hook up my Z6 and 35mm to use as my webcam. But it is wide angle, and limited for any creative choices. Honestly the iMac camera works just fine. Thankfully Nikon (and other camera brands) saw the writing on the wall, and now it is quick and simple to set up your 35mm camera as a webcam. So I quickly decided to set up one of my cameras to be a webcam….except you really couldn’t do it without a lot of work and third party apps. So I went to Amazon and others, and everyone was sold out of webcams. In March when we started offering our online classes, I decided I might want a nice camera instead of my built-in iMac video camera.
